Frascole

Tuscany, Italy

Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Frascole is a family-run winery located in Dicomano, in the province of Florence. This picturesque estate sits at the meeting point of the Mugello Valley and Valdisieve, where the Comano and Sieve rivers converge. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquility, the winery is perched on a hillside, 400 meters above sea level, offering an idyllic setting for both wine production and visitors alike. Since 1992, the Lippi family has managed the estate with a deep commitment to organic farming. Today, Frascole encompasses 15 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, certified organic since 1999. Their focus on sustainability and natural preservation is reflected in every bottle of wine and olive oil they produce. Frascole is also home to a charming agriturismo, providing a peaceful retreat for those looking to fully immerse themselves in the Tuscan countryside.
The Chianti Rufina region, where Frascole’s vineyards are located, is known for its unique microclimate, which imparts freshness and distinctive qualities to the wines. The vineyards are planted on hillsides with a mix of sandstone, limestone, marl, and pebbly soils, ideal for producing wines with complexity and character. Frascole primarily cultivates red grape varieties, with Sangiovese leading the way, supported by Canaiolo and Colorino. International varieties such as Merlot and Pinot Noir are also grown with care. In addition to their red wines, Frascole continues the tradition of cultivating white grape varieties, including Trebbiano Toscano and a touch of Malvasia Bianca, which once served as a point of pride for the estate’s personal consumption. At Frascole, Enrico and Cosimo Lippi’s dedication to organic practices and their respect for the land shine through in their wines, offering an authentic expression of the Chianti Rufina region.
