Podere San Biagio

Abruzzo, Italy

Podere San Biagio is a winery located in Controguerra, between Abruzzo and Marche. The vineyard benefits from a unique combination of sea air and mountain winds, ideal for cultivating Trebbiano, Malvasia, Passerina, Pecorino, and Montepulciano grapes. The terroir, comprising clay and limestone, is farmed using organic practices. Jacopo, who took over the winery in 2014, focuses on perfecting the winemaking process with a minimal intervention approach. All the wines undergo spontaneous fermentation, are unfiltered and unclarified, and only minimal sulfites are added. Podere San Biagio's pursuit of excellence and simplicity is evident in its natural and complex wines.
