Terre di Pietra started in a garage in the hills of upper Valpolicella. It was Laura’s project, supported by her husband Cristiano and his father. The winery dates its beginning to 2007; a new cellar in Marcellise followed in 2011.
After Laura died in 2017, Cristiano and their daughters Anna and Alice continued the work. Anna also creates the wine labels, giving the family’s involvement a visible place on each bottle.
The vineyards range from lower hills east of Verona to the higher slopes around Torbe di Negrar. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara sit alongside grapes such as Garganega. Each vineyard is vinified separately, so its soil, exposure and altitude can make a difference in the glass.
The estate joined VinNatur in 2017. Pruning, harvesting and cellar work remain hands-on, while fruit trees, olives and biodiversity projects extend the farm beyond wine. Piccola Peste, Tempesta and Testa Calda are different ways into a project that is still very much a family undertaking.
