Vecchio Consorzio 1953 began with a problem: vineyards across Colli Piacentini were being abandoned.
After more than two decades in their respective family wineries, Massimiliano Croci and Pietro Gazzola built a different model. They buy grapes from local organic growers at prices they believe make farming worth continuing.
The cellar follows the same idea. They reopened an agricultural cooperative building first used in the 1950s and left abandoned after 2005. For Vecchio Consorzio, natural wine is also a way to keep a farming region working.
