Monte Mirabello
Simone Marzocchi and Simone Zoli didn’t just stumble into winemaking — they’re rooted in it. Since the ‘90s, they’ve been part of the wine scene in Romagna, a region they know inside out. It wasn’t a fancy wine education that brought them here, but years of listening, tasting, and feeling the land beneath their feet.
Their turning point? A forgotten vineyard on Monte Mirabello in the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines. At 400 to 600 meters up, the air stays cool even on the hottest days, carrying scents of pine resin and wildflowers. The land is rugged, each meter a new microclimate — a puzzle they embrace rather than tame.
Their approach is simple but thoughtful: respect what nature gives them without overworking it. And in a region where Sangiovese isn’t just a grape but a way of life, every bottle they make is a love letter to Romagna — a place too often overlooked but capable of producing wines with soul and depth.
