Neanderthal
A deeply structured Garganega orange wine with orange peel, apricot, herbs and firm tannins — intense, but far more drinkable than it sounds.

A little more about this bottle
Garganega sits destemmed but uncrushed in clay amphora for as long as six months, then is blended with two shorter macerations made in wood. Martinelli uses the contrast to keep all that skin contact from becoming simply heavy or tannic.

Cantina Martinelli
Cantina Martinelli works old Garganega plots on volcanic basalt in Soave, including parcels planted between 1953 and 1961. Tiny scale, but not unnoticed: Pantagruele 2017 earned 92 points and Editors’ Choice from Wine Enthusiast, while Il Gigante Gargantua 2022 scored 91 points.
