Fire, Ice, and Volcanic Magic. This isn't just a wine; it's a piece of history. The Don Pippinu comes from 100-year-old vines planted high up (up to 1000m!) on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. It’s an "Orange Wine," but it’s elegant rather than heavy, thanks to a short 3-5 days of skin contact.

The result is a beautiful amber-tinted pour that captures the soul of the volcano. It is intensely mineral and refreshing, with a delicate smoky note that feels like a breath of mountain air. As the famous writer Mario Soldati once said, it tastes like "the eternal snows of the summit and the fire of the volcano."

It’s vibrant, savory, and deeply layered. If you love wines that taste like the earth they came from, this is it.

Vini Scirto

Vini Scirto began as a labor of love for Giuseppe and Valeria, who inherited both the land and the passion for winemaking from past generations. Located in Passopisciaro—on the slopes of Mount Etna in the famed Castiglione di Sicilia region—this young estate spans five hectares of vineyards (2.5 owned and 2.5 rented), many planted in the early 1900s on their own rootstocks. Predominantly Nerello Mascalese, the vines share space with other native varieties like Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante, Grecanico, and Minnella, all nurtured in a volcanic terroir marked by dramatic day-night temperature shifts. Guided by respect for the land, Giuseppe and Valeria handle everything from vine to cellar themselves, continuously exploring new ways to refine their wines. It’s a hands-on approach that honors Etna’s unique legacy—where lava-rich soils, abundant sun, and cooler nights come together to create distinctive, soulful expressions in every bottle.
